High classes for the reaction to fire for roller shutters in Aluprof systems

Tests carried out at the Fire Research Institute of Building Technology in Warsaw have shown that external roller shutters equipped with both aluminium and plastic curtains offered by Aluprof are characterized by a very high reaction to fire classes.

Tests carried out on behalf of Aluprof allowed to determine the behaviour of the roller shutter under the influence of fire, including verification whether it is susceptible to ignition, how quickly and easily it will ignite, with what intensity it will burn, whether it produces flaming drops, how much smoke it emits during combustion and whether the fire will spread quickly. All these phenomena can have a significant impact on the possibility and course of a fire, so it is extremely important to diagnose them.

The basis for classification of fire behaviour of construction products is the standard -EN 13501-1+A1:2010.  There are 7 basic classes of construction products in terms of reaction to fire: A1, A2, B, C, D, E, F. For a construction product, the most important is the basic fire class, which determines whether the construction product contributes to the development of fire. The safest are class A1, A2, B construction products, which means that there is no flaring of fire and no rapid spread of fire.

As a result of the fire tests carried out, Aluprof has obtained a very high fire resistance classification for aluminium and plastic roller shutters in ALUPROF systems:

For aluminium roller shutters we have obtained the reaction to fire class:

 B-s2,d0

For PVC XPS roller shutters we have obtained the reaction to fire class:

 B-s3,d0

The "reaction to fire" classifications for aluminium and plastic roller shutters obtained by ALUPROF S.A. ensure that ALUPROF construction products are made of high quality materials, which in addition to excellent thermal and acoustic insulation also ensure safety in case of fire.
